To dine at a table that has no cloth shows that you will not be envious of the good fortune of others. To set the table foretells a happy marriage in prosperous circumstances. An empty table foreshadows poverty and needy circumstances. A broken table is bad luck, and to clear the table means your pleasure will become sorrow. A soiled cloth on a table means you may be guilty of an indiscretion.
