A passport to a better life can be achieved by Spiritual Awareness. Such a document suggests that permission has been given by a higher authority that some kind of initiation has taken place. Often the passport can appear as a symbol of the permission we need to give ourselves or others to move on to new things or situations. To lose a passport suggests we are not committed to such an action. The passport is normally regarded as proving our identity, to prove that we have reached the age of maturity or acceptance as a valid member of society.
