The Minotaur is a mythical beast half man and half bull that was trapped within the first labyrinth created. Spiritually, it is symbolic of man's instinctive urges overcome by sheer bravery. In dreams, depending on our personality, the Minotaur can be seen as a figure either to be pitied or feared. His conquest is part of the Hero's Journey to self-actualization or realization of our own power.
