The Devil as the Tempter can appear in dreams as an imp, or as a manifestation of a particularly irritating type. The imp can represent the uncontrolled negative part of ourselves, that part that instinctively creates chaos and takes great joy in doing so. It is perhaps an aspect of loss of control. An imp appearing in a dream usually foretells disorder and difficulty.
