Electricity symbolizes the greater Spiritual Power. Without an efficient, well-understood method of using this power, however, it can be dangerous or harmful. If in a dream we receive what seems to be an electric shock it shows we are not protecting ourselves from danger and need to be more aware of external events. A sudden jolt can either be destructive or bring us back in line. The muscle jerk as we fall asleep might be interpreted by the dreaming mind as an electric shock. Electricity often represents power and it will depend on the context of the dream which aspect of power is being highlighted. To dream of electrical wires is to be aware of our capability and perhaps our use of energy, while to dream of switches is to be aware of the ability to control situations around us.
