Fermentation in alchemy symbolizes spiritual transformation and transmutation. It has this same symbolism in dreams and we become aware of changes that are both necessary and are taking place. Fermentation is living inspiration. A process of fermentation shows the ways in which we can transform and transmute aspects of our personality that do not necessarily serve us well into new and outstanding characteristics. To dream of the process of fermentation indicates that events are occurring in the background, of which we are aware but we must wait for them to develop.
